Hi all, I’m hoping someone can clarify this for me, as I’m currently a bit confused! I’m trying to confirm how long PPL exams are valid for once passed (I have just 1 left to do). The CAA website, in multiple places, states the following:
If you successfully pass the theoretical exams for the issue of a private pilot's licence, they will be valid for 24 months for you to submit an application for the PPL issue.

This period is counted from the date you complete your last theoretical knowledge examination.

Within these 24 months you must complete the flight training and pass the skill test, otherwise these exams will expire, and you will have to retake them.
However, on my exam result slips for the exams I’ve passed, it has an ‘expiry date’ that appears to be 18 months from the date I passed the first exam. Weirdly, that expiry date is also slightly different (by about 2 weeks) on the first exam compared to the rest.

Hopefully none of this will be an issue, as I’m hoping to get the both the last exam and my skills test done in the next few weeks, but I’d rather not get caught out by this if I end up failing either of them!

Any clarification would be much appreciated!
