Graduating from my newbie thread, i'll plot my journey here to aid the perspective of others considering doing the same. With that in mind, today I have my 'first' PPL lesson!

I'm learning with Shoreham Aviation however i'm lucky that there are lots of schools and runways nearby (included their sister school at Redhill).

This isn't strictly my first in that i've already logged 1.5hrs over the last month, using trial lessons to jump start the process whilst sitting on the waitlist. I'd recommend this to those keen to get going as making my presence and enthusiasm felt, i'm sure helped my movement up the list.

I've also dived into home-ground schooling as much as I've been able. I've done some extensive chair flying (assisted by FS and I bought the Turtle Beach yoke) which has been great practice for exercises in Pooley's 1 - Flight Training. I'm now starting Air Law. I've also been getting into PPL Tutor which seems like a very good delivery channel for my type of learning

I'm aiming for a lesson a week where possible and am not in a rush to complete this process - i just want to enjoy the lessons. My motivations are purely recreational.

I'll try to log time and costs here as clearly and accurately as possible.

So far, i've spent about £800 but I must emphasise that this cost was mostly discretional. £300 of that was on the trial lessons so there is some value to experience to be considered there and £20 on ground school resources but the rest is entirely on me (no necessity to buy a headset yet and other stuff etc). I'll differentiate between need to haves, nice to haves.

I'll log a report later following the lesson, pending any unlikely weather blow outs.... :D
