Apologies if this is the incorrect Forum.
I have a Spider Wireless headset. Got it in 2016 when I first started PPL.
due to relocations, children, work and training etc, my PPL journey went on hold until the last two years during which I've completed it this summer (woohoo finally!).
This headset was about £140, (2016 money, so about £400 now...
)
joking apart, it's been fine, I think it is comfortable and from a passive noise reductin aspect I dont have ringing ears when I land (RV12 SEP).
I'm not sure I need to change it or upgrade it. I can't see me benefitting from dropping about 6hrs worth of flying cash on a BLuetooth ANR extravaganza a la Lightspeed Zulu or Bose A30.
Is there much benefit to ANR versus passive, other than they are quieter? Of course anything that reduces significant noise burden is good for long-term hearing implications (I'm late 30s).
I suppose I am asking - what do you all do? If money was no object, I'd probably get a top of the range because I could, but I wonder if I'd really benefit that much.
All and any thoughts and wisdom most welcome.
Clear skies all,
G
