Hi all,

Newly-qualified pilot here, but thought this was a question fit for this subforum rather than in General. Have been flying mainly north of London since getting my PPL, but keen to venture out to the south coast. However, when planning flights to IoW, Lee-on-Solent etc, the rather tight corridor surrounding Lasham, Odiham, Popham, Solent has made me seek advice from here about how other pilots negotiate this bit of airspace. For context, I'd be flying past Booker to get to the coast, so have plotted a rough route on SkyDemon below that keeps me fairly direct but seems sensible enough (?) considering the considerations en-route.

I've read on here and heard from other pilots to give Lasham a wide berth (Odiham too but the MATZ is alright), and Solent's airspace proves rather awkward for dodging Lasham too. Any feedback/advice on the route I've screenshotted here? Is New Alresford a suitable turning point for avoiding Lasham and also avoiding the Solent CTA that begins at 2000ft (assuming en-route level of 2000-3000 if able)?

Please give any sort of advice or feedback on this route - or any other routes you might take to get to the coast that show good airmanship and err on the cautious side to begin with whilst I gain experience in this part of the UK! This rather stumped, eager-to-see-the-sea rookie would be very appreciative :D !
