hi
I have a Funke 833s radio and Sigtronics SPA-400 intercom that have worked well for several years. Over the winter an intermittent feedback problem has arisen.

When I press the PTT on the stick (Ray Allen) I get feedback and ground stations state that my transmit is poor.
If I switch off the intercom the feedback disappears.

I have very little understanding of electronics but presumably the most likely culprit is a poor connection rather than a fault within the intercom. Does the nature of the fault suggest any common issue that I might diagnose and if not would I be best to start by buying a new intercom or finding an avionics engineer please?
Could I, for instance, run an additional ground between two points to eliminate a faulty earth?

The wiring diagram is shown here
