I have a fair amount of DeWalt stuff in the workshop, and yesterday I received a new "DeWalt" shop vac via Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0B ... UTF8&psc=1
I tried to "register" in on the DeWalt website, but the model number wasn't recognised. A quick email to DeWalt and this is there reply ...
Upon checking the product that you are needing assistance with, it is a product that has been granted to be sold under license, Regretfully, since we do not manufacture these directly, we do not have any record or reference about the product.
This product is manufactured by another company that carries the warranty, spare parts, and support for the tool and we simply do not have access to that information.

We can provide you with the information of the manufacturer.

ALTON: Wet & Dry Vacuum/ Drum Fan (DEWALT)
Email: jill.xie@szalton.com
szalton appear to be some faceless chinesium brand with most likely a pretty carp support infrastructure, and yet I genuinely struggle to understand how a) I could have know this from the Amazon website, and b) quite why DeWalt would license their name out like this.
