Hello,
Is UKETA required for crew? or only for passengers?
I tend to fly with other pilots and it's a bit of hassle to arrange at last minute: it's not really difficult to apply and it's valid for 2 years but it's another layer of process when flying with other pilots to UK (2 days notice and about 20min to apply online)
My question does it apply to crew in the first place? say day trip or short-term visit?
Looking at AIP GEN1.7, UK filed ICAO differences, 3.69.2 "recommandation", I understand crew don't need "visa or waiver" and they do not need "entry clearance" when staying less than 7 days (e.g. day trip), however, they still need to appear on SGAR as part of People and Cargo manifest (General Aviation legislation April 2024) and they still need to meet UKBF on arrival if this is required
The "crew exemption" appears in UKBF guidance (2021), the original text comes from Immigration Act 1971, does this mean UKETA is not required for operational crew staying less than 7 days?
