Good evening all,
I wish to renew my ppl which expired about three years ago when covid interrupted my flying. I hold an old poo brown licence originally issued in 1968, was last renewed in 2017, revalidated in 2019 and expired in 2021. In 2022 /2023 I started the renewal process with no apparent problems but now, as I restart after a break, the examiner with the training unit says he will not sign a renewal as he is uncertain of the legality of the licence because of its age.
I sent a photo of the page which states that the licence is valid for the life of the holder and, since I am very much alive, the licence is valid and can be renewed. I've had no reply and must assume that there is no point in chasing that route.
Is there a problem with the old licence that means it cannot be renewed? If there is then I'm stuffed.
IC
