Insuring one car whilst the car it replaces is still owned is causing issues.
It isn't possible simply to change the cover from the existing car to the new one. That would leave the old car uncovered.
So I start the search for cover for the new car.
The thing is, insurers recognised three interested parties
1)The owner
2) The keeper
3)The main driver
This is causing me huge issues. Who owns the new car?
It was bought with money from our joint account. It is actually 'ours'. In the summer it is likely I will be the 'main driver' as Mrs P hoons around in her roadster Audi. In the winter it'll be pretty much 50/50.
No insurer recognises joint ownership. Isn't that in itself a strange thing in these days of equality and all the rest? Why can't 'we' own the car?
