I have used skype for years to send SMS messages and make voice calls when out of the UK/EU without voice roaming, especially to institutions such as banks that don't do Whatsapp.

I've managed to transfer my existing credit to Microsoft teams to give me access to the skype dialpad via the teams app on my phone but I gather that once the credit runs out I will no longer be able to top it up.

I really don't want a regular subscription so the Microsoft Teams is not appropriate for me.

I gather Rebtel and Yolla and Dingtone might be alternatives as they all offer PAYG options. Has anyone used these?

Has anyone any other bright ideas?
