Hi,
As a student pilot (solo with 17 hrs dual so far) I appreciate articles on the finer points of the art of flying so I was interested in readng the article on the correct use of rudder.
As a user of PA-28's I notice that the rudder is not used anywhere near as much as on gliders where I also have some time dual(grob 109).
I am curious though as to the authors comments on use of rudder to pick up a dropped wing in a stall. Now, I am open minded as I do not consider myself expert but I have been told by a number of instructors and have read numerous aircraft test reports (many in Flyer) advocating the use of rudder in picking up the dropped wing. Analysing the science of using aileron seems to indicated the situation would worsen.
Is it a case of pilot prefernce/skill level or does the situation depend on the aircraft?
Can anyone enlighten me? Maybe I just misunderstood the article...
Regards
Doug
