I'm paranoid about letting my engine warm up properly in cold weather. Anything below 10C and I let things warm up really slowly <800rpm for the first few minutes.

I've been looking at oil pre-heaters like these. Regardless of opinion, it's never a bad thing to have warm oil flowing around at startup.

A friend has designed a Raspberry Pi which sits between his heater and the mains. He can send a text message to it, which then activates the heating unit.

Can anybody recommend products other than E-Z Heat?
