I'm not yet a student pilot. And it will be several months before I begin taking lessons. This gives me a lot of time to learn ground stuff. Over the past few months, I've learned A LOT about flying, ground control, ATC, radio, taxi, take off etc. etc.
But I'm having trouble finding information on the web on how to read and understand sectional charts. They look like a mess to me.
I want to start learning how to use Foreflight before I even take my first lesson. But since I can't read or understand what I'm looking at that makes it quite difficult. SO, where do I go to learn how to read and FULLY understand the maps and charts?
Google and YouTube don't seem to be very helpful to us beginners at this, and everything I've read online always assume you're a student pilot that already has basic knowledge of these charts. I don't.
So, how do I learn this basic knowledge of understanding sectional charts without paying for a ground school?
