Had anyone experience of raising the oil temp on a C90 in a Jodel (D117) ?
Mine is getting to about 53 degrees C max even after an hour of fast cruise.
The dipstick tube gets very wet and rusty,
It’s all new instrumentation and sensors, so I guess I believe it.
There is no specific oil cooling airflow as such, just the sump hanging out in whatever breeze there is inside the cowling.
The ‘mouth’ that the air goes into only directs air to the cylinders, and the sump then gets it second hand.
Do people ever insulate the sump a bit ? if so, how ?
I’m thinking maybe some sort of ‘blanket’ fitted over the front or top of it ?
Or should I not worry about it ?
