Hi All,

I posted a recent video (I know I will do these things) where someone picked me up for switching Carb Heat to cold at 300ft AGL on final, as it was NOT IN THE POH.

I was taught albet on a PA28, but have also had instruction in several other types, and flown with multiple instructors, for Carb Heat to Hot when reducing the throttle below 2000 rpm, then CH cold at 300ft AGL in final, in case I need to go around. But the POH for my C172 says CH when dropping the throttle, but then nothing else apart from CH cold and flap up once landed. No mention of CH in balked landings.

So am I right in following my training, or should I stick rigidly to the POH which was written in 1976 and probably designed for US 50000000ft runways.
