Does anyone have any practical experience of dealing with HMRC as an attorney? My mother has been getting various and sundry correspondance from the taxman and, if I am lucky, it gets to me (eventually). She is pretty much totally gaga and bins anything to do with tax or government :D
I want to register with them and get her correspondance sent to me but we cannot register online because she lacks all the neccessary documents (passport, driver's licence, payslip) and pretty much everything is now sent to me anyway. I have no idea how they got her new address since I didn't tell them.
Short of getting myself qualified as a financial professional, when no ID is required, I cannot see a simple way of dealing with it. T'net is awash with frustrated relatives trying to find out how to do it...........
Since I refuse to be separated from the only copy of the LPA I cannot post it to them (fat chance) and they never answer the phone so that I can give them the magic code provided by the OPG.
It has been several months of trying and, now that Dad has gone and she is in receipt of his annuities, I would like to get it all straight.
