Our Condor has a 1101898 35A Generator, and its associated electromechanical voltage regulator (assumed to be a 1118704 but I don't know for sure.
Today after a 3 month layup to fit the new panel it was time for the test flight the engine fired up with no issues and settled into a stable idle. I flicked the generator switch to on and the ammeter remained showing a discharge state I shut down believing I might have missed the wire out that connects the main breaker to the battery bus, I hadn't so I re-started the engine and let it warm up still no dice, not even a flicker at a high idle (1200 RPM normally shows a positive charge).
All of the other electrics (which I rewired) work fine (strobes, pump, starter button, stall warner EFIS...you get the idea). I belled out the wires from the battery bus to the generator and all came back with 0 resistance and setting the generator switch to on did unground the regulator. So its either the internals of the regulator which haven't liked being sat for 3 months over the winter or the generator its self.
Keen to modernize bits where I can could anybody advise on a solid state regulator they have used?
