I'm in the process of selling my house and thought I'd better clean all the windows for the first time in about five years. Yes, I'm grubby...

After falling off my chair from the quotes I got from a couple of window cleaners (when did they start charging as much as plumbers?), I decided to do it myself.

After much research and deliberation, and having an inner geek always inside me trying to get out, I decided technology needed to be involved in this process.

So, a Kärcher WV 60 (£60 from B&Q) was acquired and I have to say, it's one of the best 'gadgets' I have ever bought.

It does an absolutely superb job and is completely mess free. You would be amazed by the colour of the water that pours out of it at the end. Well, admittedly probably less so if you wash your windows more often than once every five years... So if you're looking for something useful to put under the christmas tree, there it is.

I thought the consumables were expensive (£10 for 5 sachets of cleaning stuff - one is included with the unit) however, I've done my whole house inside and out - including a conservatory - and only just finished the first one.
